Mike Erikson appears to just be your average small town teacher. That is until an old friend shows up and dangles a mystery in front of Mike the likes of which he had never seen.

The Albuquerque door is a revolutionary top secret government device that allows the user to travel near any distance in a matter of steps and seconds. It will change the world forever if it doesn't destroy it that is.

But something is off with the project, the scientists refuse to reveal details even to the top brass to secure much needed funding and persons encountering the device seem effected in strange ways. Solving the biggest mystery in the world before it destroys the world should be a breeze compared to teaching high schoolers.

The Fold is a truly remarkable novel written by Peter Clines of thr Ex-Heroes collection

Armada by Ernest Cline Review

Armada tells the story of Zack Lightman and his struggle to save the planet and his family. Classic, right? Lightman is a likable enough guy with a understandable chip on his shoulder courtesy to the untimely death of his father as a young man during an industrial accident, while Zack is just a baby. He grows up with a really cool mom and an undying passion for video games like his late father, and more specifically for Armada, one of the video games everyone has been playing for years.

When the excrement really starts flying, Lightman along with many of the other top ranked Armada players is inducted into the Earth Defense Alliance, that in a very Enders Game style, has been training him and millions of others via the video game Armada he’s been playing for years.

Armada has the popular geek culture references one would expect from the author of Ready Player One, as well as many other references that could potentially go right over the heads of younger readers.

Armada also has several loyal sidekicks and a perspective girlfriend for Zack who isn’t one to be underestimated. Arguably she is a better and more kick as fighter than Zack who can’t seem to follow orders, although that insubordination ultimately ends up saving the world.

All in all Armada is an amazing book worthy of picking up regardless of your normal genre preferences, like many other fans of his novels I remain hopeful that we will see these characters again, but if not then at least we were given books that, we will never tire of rereading and will bring us joy for years to come.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Sooo....This is new.

So I am going to be completely honest here, this blog is being started for a number of fairly pointless reasons.
Firstly, I was just watching How I Met Your Mother and Barney referenced his blog, and Barney is awesome. Secondly, I was browsing apps from Google on Google Play and found the Blogger app and thought, what the hell?
Thirdly, as an employee of a well large well know bookseller in the Americas, I see and deal with many, lets say unique, people and situations and  on a daily basis. Some funny, some odd, and some flat out disturbing. So I figure why not give this a a try, if for no other reason then to say its something ive done.
I wasnt a english major, when I am on a roll and typing something I will often get ahead of myself and forget to actually type a several of the words from the sentence, and I will be posting almost exclusively from my phone so there may be some odd auto corrects and such sprinkled in some posts. You know, just as a forewarning. Alright thats it for now.

Pick up a book ladies and gents,
